And it's really sad that this has to happen to animals, but sometimes being euthanized is better than them living life as strays, and possibly starving to death or catching diseases

I think by once living in Putnam Co, this county has no money to do anything. This is a Poverty Co. It's unattractive and has nothing to offer. As for the animals, Everyone wants to be the first to blab out NO KILL SHELTER but that fact of the matter is, Ask animal control and Humane Societies what they see. I am sure they can tell you about the on going battle with careless pet care, no spay/neutering, stupid people out there who contribute to this problem. Everything costs money. Their are simply not enough homes for animals. So do your research and ask the people who care and see the front lines like animal cops and maybe next time you will understand they are not the enemies! Too bad its not like people having kids that can't afford them... Too bad the government don't send the animals money like they do these dead beats who are on government assistance for needing help raising their kids with another on the way. Too bad our government is also to busy helping these foreigners get over here and get educated to take our jobs too! So next time you want a "NO KILL shelter" why don't you go build one smartass!
Got ahold of them to come out to help us with getting our wolf dog in the house before the hurricane hit. They said if we don't call back within an hour to call back. Hour and a half went by, called them over 20 times (not exaggerating) and they would not pick up the phone. I don't understand how they even have three stars. They are the worst animal control ever!! Why call yourself animal control if you don't want to take a phone call about animals!! I do not recommend calling them for any help with animals!!
Technically, I don't even think Animal control is considered a "shelter". They're not a part of any animal protection programs. Their job is strictly to control animals. So it's kind of unfair to review it as a shelter, when it isn't one.
Of course it would be wonderful for animal control to be a "no-kill shelter," but it is NOT the fault of the county commissioners that it's not. The money to maintain and properly care for these animals has to come from somewhere.
Apparently it's too hard to open to gate at 10:00 or answer the phone!!! Its not that hard guys.
